From 10 to 12 March, partners of the BrightSpace project gathered in Cremona, Italy, for the annual consortium meeting. The event combined keynote sessions and focused working discussions aimed at advancing the integration of promising technologies into the project’s modelling toolbox. Central to the debate was how to parameterize innovations identified in WP8 across a set of core models used in BrightSpace, including CAPRI, MAGNET, AGMEMOD, FarmDyn, GLOBIOM, and IMAGE.
The meeting format encouraged intensive bilateral exchanges between modelling, data, socio-economic and scenario teams. These sessions provided a detailed overview of progress across work packages and, crucially, helped clarify how promising technologies can be consistently implemented within the shared modelling environment.
Samuel Ahado represented Technology Centre Prague at the meeting with a poster presentation titled “From Innovation to Simulation: Parameterizing Promising Technologies in MAGNET.” The poster stimulated discussion on how WP8 feeds into multiple other work packages in BrightSpace. It focused on the diffusion and adoption curves of promising technologies identified in the literature and demonstrated how these can be translated into model parameters within the MAGNET framework, particularly in relation to input-saving technical change.
A dedicated consensus meeting with the modelling teams further specified the data requirements needed to parameterize these technologies across the BrightSpace modelling toolbox. This discussion directly supports the completion of WP8 Task 8.3 and contributes to a more robust and harmonised integration of innovation scenarios across the project’s analytical tools.
