National Information Centre for European Research

National Information Centre for European Research (NICER) is a project of Technology Centre providing a complex support to Czech entities in their involvement in the European Research Area (ERA). The NICER project is financially supported by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic.

Within the framework of the NICER project Technology Centre:

ensures the activities of National Contact Points (NCP) for the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) who organize large-scale awareness and training events on the 7FP and provide professional consultation to individual teams preparing or dealing with specific 7FP projects. A special attention is paid to SMEs.
manages a financial support system for the preparation of large 7FP projects.
publishes ECHO – a two-monthly focused on ERA-related information, and publications specialized in the 7FP issues.
administers the CzechRTD.info portal informing foreigners on RTD structures in the Czech Republic and enables Czech teams to publish their proposals on European cooperation in specific RTD and innovation areas.
is connected to the European network of NCPs for the 7FP and the national information network NINET as well as other contact points in the Czech Republic through its NCP activities, and thus contributes to building relations between entities in the Czech Republic and the ERA.
cooperates with the European Commission and with representatives of the Czech Republic in Programme Committees of the 7FP and the COST scheme.
develops a close cooperation with the department for international cooperation in RTD of the Ministry of Education, especially in monitoring the participation of the Czech Republic in the 7FP and its application in analytic studies and in shaping the concept of the Czech participation in the ERA.
