Course “Technology Foresight for Practitioners 2007 – A Specialized Course on Scenarios”
An international course “Technology Foresight for Practitioners” will be organized for the fifth time in Prague, in the conference room of Technology Centre AS CR, Rozvojova 135, Prague 6. The course will run from 5 to 11 November 2007 (Monday – Thursday). The course, which is held in cooperation with UNIDO, will be focused on scenarios this year. Within the 4-day course, foresight will be introduced as a tool for policy-making with a special emphasis on the role of scenarios, followed by a lecture on scenarios as a method. Theory will be completed with presentation of case studies to clarify the practical application of scenarios and last but not least, participants will develop their own scenarios in a practical workshop.
The course will be, in the same manner as in the preceding years, supported by a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Participants will have to cover their travel and accommodation expenses themselves. A participation fee of EUR 300 is waived for countries eligible for support (a list of such countries will be available at http://www.unido.org/doc/62804).
The Registration Form is to be filled-in on-line. Due to a limited course capacity it is recommended to register as soon as possible. In case of a high number of applicants a selection of participants will be done according to geographic criteria (a balanced representation of target countries) and their professional qualification.
Note: An approval process for all registered applicants will follow upon registration. Those applicants who will be approved for participation will be informed in due course and will receive further organizational details (accommodation, etc.).
